The water was so warm and shallow that we were able to kayak right out St Pierre Island on a calm day. Sea temp around 29C.

Long beach perfect to run. Quiet and only few people on the beach. I found this beach much more beautiful than Anse Lasio. There is restaurants. You can go by bus. I like it.

I had a wonderful two week trip on Seychelles until I came to this beach and one of those tour operators "salesmen" came to talk to me. I was interested to get to Aride and Curieuse islands. He asked me to pay a deposit to reserve a trip for the next morning and I did. Next morning the sea at Aride was rough so we went only to Curieuse, which was cheaper trip and island-tax. I was promised another tour next day or moneyback. Next day, however, the sea was still rough and I ended up paying another operator another tax and fee for the entrance and trip to the Cousine island. Island was great but I got completely wet and the trip was scary, in a way too small boat for the waves. Ont thw way back I saw the "salesman" on the beach and I asked for the money but he "didn't" have it at the moment. Later on he disappeared and I heard that a group of seven people also paid him but never got a trip of any kind. At least I got a trip of somekind, but l lost 60 euros for nothing. Be warned, this is a very nice Island and a beach but don't pay anything in advance, there are snakes in the paradise, on Anse Volbert beach.

My husband and I have been to Seychelles and in particular Praslin four times over the past view years. All international flights arrive at Mahe island. Transfer to Praslin via smaller aircraft takes about 15 minutes. Anse Volbert is roughly a half hour's drive from the airport at Praslin. Anse Volbert is in my opinion the best place to stay in Praslin and the perfect base from where to explore this beautiful island with all the gems it has to offer. We stayed at Paradise Sun which have proven to be an excellent hotel choice (see my review of 17 July 2014).Like other reviews mentioned it is much cheaper to buy bottled water, drinks or snacks at the local shops. Do not expect shopping malls - the shops are small but keep basic items. Wine can also be bought here at reasonable prices. The locals are very friendly and there are a couple of very good restaurants that offer authentic Creole dishes.A walk along the magnificent Cote D'or beach is breathtaking and romantic. The aquamarine water is lukewarm and it is absolutely lovely to just float in the calm waters. We were on each occasion in Praslin during September and the weather was very pleasant.Do look out for baby stingrays when you enter the Indian Ocean.Anse Volbert boasts a magical and idyllic ambience and you feel engulfed in romance, total and utter relaxation and pure bliss in this paradise. No wonder this island is, according to legend, believed to be the original Garden of Eden!!We were on each occasion reluctant to leave this magical paradise and we were always tempted to stay forever!!

It is one of the nicest and calmest beaches in Praslin and most of the hotels, the shops and the restaurants are located there and there is also a life guard on duty.I did not give it a "very good" since the beach is not as clean as some of the other praslin beaches and it has a seaweeds which mailny depends on the time of the year of the visit since it is being controlled by the winds.

Long stretch of beach - there is a beautiful spot around every corner! There were few people, so it was very private. The small village is also worth a visit, and we purchased drinks and snacks there (much cheaper than at the hotels!). It was very pleasant to take a long walk along the Cote d'Or.

Anse Volbert is a great beach to relax on. The view is fantastic. The beach is very long so there is plenty of room for everyone. On high tide it becomes super short and you cant really be there, but that is the only con of this place.

I really like the beach here, although it was a bit seaweedy, but it is SW monsoon so to be expected. Lovely sand and nice for long walks. Lots of sealife for snorkling, including rays and turtles.A few options for food and drink and local shops/supermarkets, it would be easy to do the self catering/villa options here rather than hotel.

Anse Volbert or Cote d'Or is a small village with 3 super markets and about 10 restaurants, there is an ATM and it is well connected through the local bus system. The beach is clean, not very busy, no hawkers to bother you. The water is clean and safe for children

Lovely to swim, fairly shallow for a long way out. Safe for children. Nothing to see for snorkelling.

Private, calm, beautifull and close to beautifull points to dive. We took some spectacular photos with almost no one trying to sell you something.

On the face of it, Anse Volbert has everything you look for: it is spacious, there are deck chairs, there is shade, swimming is good, restaurants are close, etc. Yet there is something here missing and as strange as it may sound it is nothing less than the typical large boulders. There is simply some sort of intimacy that is lost without these large friendly rocks close by. Other than that, it is a remarkably nice beach, even though the coral reef outside is mostly dead.

I have been told that beaches vary greatly in the Seychelles depending on what time of year it is. We visited in April and had a lovely time on this beach. The sand if fine and soft, the water was calm and clear. Cafe's near the beach were much cheaper than at some of the more famous beaches and we weren't constantly warned about theft being a problem. I believe that in the fall, this is the windy side of the island and the sea might not be so calm, but there would still be a lovely view of the smaller islands. We were glad we chose this as our base in the Seychelles.
