I got a gift card from a friend who, said I needed to go to,a professional, I figured since my hair was shorter I needed a little trim so i didn't need a five year expert. I got stylist named C.... And she had hair that looked like dread locks unbound and uncombed. Should, have been my first clue, then she said I don't talk ich during cuts so if I had questions ask, second clue. Questioned my thick hair with her teacher who said I onlu needed and small texture, wel C.... Went for it and chopped up.the back. The other customer getting extensions and her guy stylist said I had beautiful thick hair and wondered why she kept chopping it off whe is said stop, 2 1/2 hrs later manager came, said what can I do,,I said tease the top so I can get out of here. I said I guess I'll go check out, he said sure I'll write it up, no discount just a bag of hair products, now I have to,wait for it to grow to get it even. Not going back. They didn't even say well in a couple of days or a week come back and we'll hlep fix it. I guess you have to wear Michale Korrs to be taken care of.

I visited Spa in the Valley in May 2014 for the first time for a 60-min personalized facial. Camelle, the esthetician who worked on me, was amazing! She was very courteous and attentive. Before starting, we talked about my skincare concerns, and she recommended (no pushy behavior) that I get the Eminence Organics personalized facial for an additional $10. I agreed, and am so glad that I did! She told me exactly which products she used and I bought two items that I am very satisfied with ((1) Eminence Organic's Pear & Poppyseed Microderm Polisher, (2) Eminence Organics Persimmon & Canteloupe (facial) moisturizer.) I will definitely be going back to Camelle again!!

This was my first visit to the Spa in the Valley Salon. I took my daughter with me. It was a treat for us to do something fun together before she returned to college. Our treatments were fine, but I had a concern that needed to be addressed. I was told that it could only be addressed by the owner, who was not there at the time. I was pressured into paying for services that I felt I did not fully owe. I did so in good faith with the assurance that I would be hearing from the owner. After a few days with no response, I called the salon and left another message. I followed up with 2 more calls, leaving messages each time. I even made a trip back to the salon in an effort to speak with the owner in person. Once again, I left a message. That time I was assured that I would hear from the owner within two days. The call never came. After several weeks, all the while continuing to be assured that the owner would be contacting me, I have heard nothing. I witnessed twice the handwritten messages that were taken down to be passed on to the owner. Each time I spoke with someone at the salon, I received more and more disturbing information from the employees with whom I spoke about the salon's practices. I am hopeful that this public communication will spur the owner, or someone with authority, into providing me with the courtesy of a reply. Our services were on 3/31/14, so it has been almost 3 months now that I have been patiently waiting to resolve this matter. If there is still no intention to contact me, I will be sure to share all of the details of my experience, along with the business practices that I have discovered, with everyone that I know who uses, or plans to use, the services at any of the Salon by Debbie locations. The success of a business depends on its clients and their experiences. I firmly believe that the customer's impression begins with the culture that is set at the very top. It leaves one wondering about the trustworthiness in the behavior throughout an organization when the owner does not take the time to return a phone call from a customer who has expressed a concern and has asked to have it appropriately addressed.

I had been a regular at About Faces. Got a certificate for Spa in the Valley. I'm very pleased . Such a wonderful place and experience. The employees are great and treated very well and say it's the best salon/spa they've ever worked at. They say Debbie is wonderful and treats every employee and client with the utmost of respect and regard. I had every service from massage to facial to pedi/mani to hair. I felt like a queen. They are number one now in Baltimore according to Baltimore magazine. I can see why. Debbie knows what she's doing. There was not one provider that did not look happy and they all had great things to say about their workplace. Didn't see that at all at About Faces. Happy employees make happy clients. Very happy ones.

Noticeable difference on the first treatment. I did the acupuncture facelift and was skeptical that it could work. To my surprise I COULD notice a difference in fine lines and wrinkles especially on my neck. It is painless and soothing because it is done in a spa setting not like a doctor's office. The typical dim lights, soft music and heated bed make it a pleasant experience. Dr. Gorman is so informative on every level of questioning from topical applications, to diet and exercise and meditation. She was recommended by my daughter and I love her bedside manner. Dr. Gorman recommends several treatments and I am definitely going back. She said there is a maintenance of 1 treatment per month after you reach your desired level. They are not cheap though over $200 for the first and $190.00 for subsequent. The best deal is to buy a package which included some of the products used in the procedure.

Think of just about anything that you want from a spa and look no further. Love Lisa, my hairstylist, products for sale, etc. Such a pleasant experience. Book a appointment and try it.

I had the 75-minute milk and honey pedicure. I was surprised to discover that 75 minutes included a 10-minute soak in water at the start of the pedi and 15 minutes drying time. I thought the food massage was very short (maybe 3 minutes) and average. I think the polish job is good but not extremely clean looking. Overall i am disappointed and will not go back. The pedicurist at was very friendly though. The pedi is on sale in April but I say save your money and go elsewhere.

My first haircut after keeping my hair long for my wedding, and though I usually go to my stylist of 10+ years in New York, I was going to be in the area and decided to try somewhere a little more convenient. I called to schedule a haircut with a Platinum stylist, and arrived to find out I was booked with a Silver (minimal experience). The receptionists did not apologize for the mistake, but said I could wait 2 hours if I wanted... I should have trusted my gut and walked out, but I did need a trim so I foolishly talked myself out of leaving. Consultation was fine, I was offered a cup of hot tea and headed to be washed. Shampoo was decent though only one person and I waited a few minutes. She also offered me something to drink. Walked over to the chair through a pile of long dried hair on the floor, expecting the hot tea I had been offered twice, and accepted twice, but it never came. The Haircut: From what I could tell it seemed fine at first. I asked for 2" off all around (no layers, no angles, just a clean cut), but unfortunately that is not what happened. The blowdry was awful. I can't remember the last time I had my long hair blown out without a round brush. For a blowout or just a cut/dry, that is pretty standard protocol anywhere I've been, and should have been the same for this 'high-end' salon. Instead, I got a cold blowdryer and a paddle brush pulling my hair down against my head... in other words, the way you quickly blowdry hair on a kid who is on the brink of a temper tantrum. It was only 3/4 dry, and not a dab of finishing cream or a spritz of glossing spray was even considered.... but the worst was yet to come.Because the blowout was the equivalent of air-drying out the car window, I had my hair in a ponytail all day yesterday. Today I washed and styled my hair as usual for the first time post-cut. I don't really experiment with my hair, so to hear my husband say "it looks... different" was a red flag. I used our double mirror to discover that it was ridiculously uneven, and that a HUGE chunk of hair in the front is about 3" shorter than the rest of my hair -- not in a layered way, in a mistake way. No wonder I walked out with such a deep side part, so I wouldn't notice the mistake. I uploaded a photo with my formerly even hair, can't really argue with that.My follow-up call to explain how unhappy I was did not go well, as I was told that a lead stylist would be too busy cutting hair to call me from a phone that is meant to book appointments. I guess you can try it if you like to gamble, but I will not be risking my hair on this place ever again.

Got my toes and fingernails done, very nice job by Renee. Heard the massages there are an "experience!" Lots of lovely accessories and cosmetics to browse, also. I'd say it was well worth the visit.

Best massage EVER!!! Deenie really cares about your heath and well-being, and will customize the best massage for you according to your situation. It is wonderful to look forward to using the Tuscan room before your massage which relaxes you completely so that you are able to reap the benefits of your massage even more. When you are ready to feel ultimately pampered, Deenie will make you feel like a new person!!!

Ask for Eileen. She is amazing! I tell her where it hurts on my back and she gets all the knots out, plus tells me exercises to keep the pain away.

The last time that I went was with a group of girlfriends for a birthday. It was so wonderfully relaxing. Their Tuscan Room is wonderful, but I believe that it's not available for women on Mondays. Make sure you allot time to enjoy this free service. Just being able to hang out before going into our own private rooms for our services was nice. The staff was super friendly, and the location of the spa allowed for us to walk to restaurants and continue our day of pampering!
