Shad run is both inspiring and tragically diminished due to long term neglect of the Chesapeake Bay.Visit in April-May to see the best Trillium hillside in the area, Just drive along the river and look, well, up the hill! Migratory songbirds visit in the same time frame. Bring binoculars for these and the bald eagles. Go the dam for many eagles, but avoid the long-lens dummies shooting the same tired eagle pics.

We enjoyed a short hike on a very cold day. Lovely, well maintained trails and nice views. Would like to go back when it's warmer.

Nature at it's finest. Even the drive TO the park is beautiful. Off the beaten path but worth going out of your way for.

We went here primarily to see the grist mill - it was worth it. There are several other buildings in that area that are beautifully preserved. We took a few minutes to walk up by the railroad tracks and photograph the Susquehanna River - the park is a great place to walk and there are many trails - it was too cold for us to take advantage of that on this trip - but we made notes for the next time we are in the area.

Susquehanna State Park is kind of a hidden secret in Harford County Maryland. There is a great network of color coded hiking trails with opportunities for all levels of hikers. Most trails take you through forested area with some stretches in open fields. Some trails run parallel to the Susquehanna River Several trails can be rocky and steep, so good hiking shoes are recommended. If you prefer level hiking a trails close to the river follows for the most part an old railroad bed and a canal towpath. Good opportunities to see water birds, ospreys and eagles along this trail.

Good hiking site -- trails range from very easy (gravel paths that are stroller accessible) to more challenging and rocky. Pretty views. Easy access in/out. Nice campgrounds.

We visited the Susquehanna State Park in Havre de Grace, MD and it is magnificent. There are two separate sites you want to visit: the first is "Rock Run" where you will see the beautiful 14-room mansion, a large stone barn, sone spring house, the incredible grist mill, Jersey Toll House and the Rock Run Miller's House. This is a wonderful place to walk around and enjoy views of the beautiful Susquehanna River. The second place is Steppingstone Museum, which preserves and demonstrates the rural arts and crafts of the 1880-1920 period. There is the home, a huge cannery, carriage house, barn, several other buildings and a great place to wander the grounds. We are very fortunate that Art and Bob were kind enough to show us around; the cannery is amazing! We would have enjoyed this on our own, but the two men "made our day!"

Perryville, Maryland's best kept secret. A clean park at the tip of the bay with beautiful scenery all around. Baseball field, swings and gym for the children picnic tables and benches. A couple of pavilions also that you may reserve for your family outings. I chanced by this cause I was invited to a birthday picnic there. A must see for all of Cecil County and visiting folks. A book and an afternoon is all you would need to have a wonderful day.

The park is a great morning or afternoon outing. You can walk along the Susquehanna River, fish, camp, etc.

I enjoyed my stroll and drive through this park. There are scenic views, historic sites and many walking trails. I hope to visit again in the autumn or winter.

We visited while doing our state park Park Quest. Such a quiet, beautiful park. Definitely worth another visit. On the Saturday we went, it was surprisingly not busy.

As a pro nature photographer I have spent lots of time in Susquehanna SP. It is small and has some nice, leisurely trails for hikes or biking. In fall it does have some photographic possibilities. It never has too many people, so it is a nice place for a family hike. Lots of deer. Good boating launch ramp on the Susquehanna River.

Very quiet, private and spacious sites with nice picnic tables, level pads, well-wooded. Some have electric. There are walk-in sites and electric equipped cabins as well. Very clean and new bath houses. Playground for the kids. Ampitheater has special events on weekends (nature stuff). Fire wood is available on Craig's Corner road from a roadside self-serve stand (way better than buying the crappy state park firewood). Plenty of wood also in the campground. You are not permitted to bring in your own wood, so cover it up! Nearby are great places to fish and go tubing in Deer Creek. Plenty of hiking trails. Near Conowingo Dam and Havre de Grace as nice day trips. We went for a week this year. Price is around $35 per night with electric. A great place for tenters, RVers or Cabinnites.

Somewhat secluded, walk-up primitive camp sites. Great little camping areas, very shaded but still enough room to look at the stars and enjoy the evening firefly shows. Clean bath house, helpful staff. Stayed there to kayak Gunpowder River and Gunpowder River State Park only accommodates camping groups (Boy Scouts, Church/Reunions, etc). Will come back and try to bring more friends!

I loved how clean it was. We walked around and went in to the house. It was so nice, and the guides were very pleasent
