Art and his wife are the most accommodating, generous people we've met on this trip.. Showers, rooms and cabins the cleanest and most comfortable. Art fit us in for a halibut fishing charter even though we did not book ahead and the season was coming to an end. I would recommend anyone looking for a great experience charter fishing to give them a call. Also they have the most reasonable prices.

Just finished my second consecutive Halibut trip with Capt Art and deckhand Skyler. You will not find a better team to spend your day with. Art has a very high standard for catching quality fish. He will be very serious about asking you to release a 40lb fish to continue hunting for the big ones. For my two trips Cpt Art was one of the first boats out and one of the last to return giving you every chance to land the Big Ones. And I can't say enough about Skyler. The guy was awesome with my two kids and wife and made sure we all had a wonderful experience. The facilities are very clean and well maintained. And they go out of their way to make sure you have what you need. Even offered to loaned me his truck to go site seeing so we wouldn't have to take the RV off the lot. I'm an ex commercial fisherman and I hate having anyone take me fishing. Capt Art @ Reel Em Inn Charters can take me fishing any day off the week. If you choose Ninilchik as your fishing destination then it HAS TO BE CAPT. ART & REEL EM INN CHARTERS!!! Dermmell & Pam Phillips 8-5-14

I'm in the lodging business just down the road from Reel Em inn and I also live here to fish. You won't find a more committed family of guides to fish with than these people, who run a super clean and friendly guide service. They work hard, every day. I've watched the boys grow up to become captains, running their own boats, and able to compete with any charter on the water, and I've worked in the community alongside their parents.....They are honest people who help to maintain a high standard in our industry, and I'm happy to recommend them.

This is a family owned and run business. We have been fishing with them for the last 4 years. We have tried other charters in Ninilchik and had bad experiences like unknowledgable crew, Captains and deck hands from out of state and poor fish processing. Luckily we found Reel em In Charters! They take pride in giving you an experience of a lifetime with excellent customer service and will even professionally process your catch! We have always gotten our limit with decent size fish. My husband caught a 120lb Halibut with them yesterday! We heard other boat captains on the radio saying they didn't get any fish but we were catching fish like crazy and only keeping the biggest ones. You are crazy if you don't book your next charter with Reel em In Charters!Scott and Sandy DrakeJuly 3, 2013

Found this wonderful hotel online. They keep a very clean and organized place to stay. The rooms were very clean as well as the showers. It was one of the most enjoyable stays I have had in a long time. The owners run a tight and clean place to rest after an adventurous day on the waters.

We've been clients of Bruce and Charlene for 17 years, we can always expect honest, extremely clean service at home and great captains-guides at sea, dedicated and experts at what they do. We've fished and learned from them. We like them as friends, our children grew up during these years, now Garrett is a full blown Captain, and he's always been a great fisherman.

We spent 2 days fishing with Captain Bruce and his deckhand Chris and we had a great time and lots of success! Bruce has been chartering for many years and he gave us a great experience. I had no experience halibut fishing, and he was so helpful and patient (I was also the lone female, but I held my own with the boys!). The weather was terrible the first day, but Bruce made sure we met our quota and got us back in quickly the next day. The second day was perfect weather, and we had a nice few hours out on the water, and threw a lot of fish back in so we could keep enjoying ourselves. Our total haul for 5 people was 166 lbs, not too shabby!Bruce and his team are true professionals and experts at what they do, but they are also good, down to earth people that we had fun hanging out with and learning about Alaska from them.

5 stars not because of the picture perfect weather or the tremendous fishing but for a very hard working guide who wanted to be sure we a great experience. Family business, Dad and son run the boats and Mom runs the base operation. I admit to a little anxiety when Garrett first suggested we go to deeper water to try and catch a big Halibut, I have had the misfortune of being on a charter where you rode around in a boat all day and never saw a fish. His plan though was to go deep when the tide was favorable for fishing deep water and then move to shallower water (higher concentration of fish but much smaller) as the tide dictated. We were fortunate enough to get plenty of fish in both spots including a 175 pound Halibut out deep. This is a charter for real fisherman, no frills on the boat (bring your own lunch, no bananas, and drinks, bucket available as needed) and no sittling idly while the captain or crew hook the fish and then hand you a rod. They get you involved immediately in getting the lines out and then hooking up the fish. Instructions are quick and accurate, just pay attention and follow their lead. We took notice of the giant jigs Garrett had so he even loaded some of those on lighter weight tackle to give it a try. All three of us were lucky enough to get a fish on the line with those rigs as well which was a real treat. Contrary to some rumors I have heard catching Halibut is not the same as dragging an anchor off the bottom, they will run and fight aggressively. Fish were quickly filleted and ready for freezing. Everybody friendly and helpful. Hope to get back with them in the future!
