This museum is definitely worth a stop, even if you're not a quilter. The creativity and time that goes into these works of art is just astounding. The special exhibitions and quilts displayed in the permanent collection change 4 times a year, so there is always something new to see.

Visit every year, sometimes more than once. Yes, I'm a quilter, but I want to be sure the reader understands that this is not your preconceived 'bunch of fabric stitched back together.' These are truly art pieces, made with hours, months and sometimes years of work by truly gifted artists. The displays change several times a year, so be sure to check out their website to see the schedule of exhibits. While this is more likely to appeal to women, I have spoken frequently with "I'm just here with my wife" visitors and they are amazed by the work, and appreciative of the artistry displayed. Old town Paducah starts right across the front lawn and has many good restaurants and venues.

whether you are a quilter or not, you'll be amazed at the wonderful artistry displayed in this museum. These are not your grandma's quilts!

Has a wonderful variety of quilts. There are some that are always on display and some areas that have theme quilts and change periodically. Always very interesting. A very nice gift shop is also located in the building with many nice things to choose from. Most are quilt themed but there are also many hand crafted things made in KY.

The museum was well worth the stop. My husband is not a big fan of quilts really enjoyed seeing this. The staff were wonderful and fully explained anything we wanted to know. We really enjoyed our visit.

Annual conventions and quilting shows and classes in April. The quilts on exhibit are actually pieces of fabric art. Entire family except small children will enjoy going there. Guests from many countries visit in April and vie for Quilting prizes and awards and for inspiration and learning about the art of quilting

the quilts in here on display are simply amazing. My wife wanted to go here on our way to Florida so we stopped for a visit. For a guy who doesn't have a great interest in such things,I was truly amazed. Be sure to check out old downtown nearby too.

A 'must see' in Paducah. Beautiful space displaying amazingly beautiful quilts including many 'winners' from the annual quilters convention that meets in Paducah.

Main display was great. Museum guides were able to spend time with us to describe how the quilts were made and share information with us about the quilters who made the pieces. We though that there was too much space used for the Kid's quilt blocks - while some were cute, most were poor and should not take up space that could be used to display the best of what the museum has.

Was traveling through Paducah, KY and had a few hours to burn. Saw the sign for the National Quilt Museum and thought it might be just the thing to do for a quick side trip. I spent an hour in the museum. Admission is $11.00. Open all year round Monday - Saturday. The quilts are more than fantastic works of art. The tour guide explained some of the basics about quilting and tasked me with picking two or three of my favorite quilts to write down in the guest sign in book. I was at a loss. They are all so wonderful in their own way. I was particularly surprised and fond of the quilts that were Tolkien inspired. I guess I did not anticipate or associate Tolkien with the quilting crowd. But now I do. Great place to stop and appreciate the artistry of quilts.

I took some Dutch family members to the quilt museum this past Christmas and it was my third visit. It really is a special treat to see the quality of the work and to imagine the hours of labor that have gone into making these pieces. The creativity of the quilts and the intricacy is beyond anything I had imagined and the museum does a beautiful job of exhibiting the pieces. It was extra special this year to bring along some Dutch family as the winner of last years Quilt Convention was from the Netherlands as well. The personnel at the museum are friendly and helpful and the space is really beautiful...this is a must see when in Paducah.

Gorgeous permanent collection quilts and special exhibits featuring motion quilts and antique nine-patch made three hours fly by. I enjoyed looking at local art crafts, and the wooden quilt is not to missed. Paducah looked like a fun town to stroll around, but it was too cold and windy

This museum is a delight and an eye opener. It is amazing what beautiful pieces of art can be made by stitching pieces of fabric together. Watching the quilters working and explaining how to do it, makes a person want to start stitching.

What an amazing art museum - but instead of paintings, they have quilts! And more quilts, and hand stitched quilts, and antique quilts hundreds of years old, and new quilts and much more! I am not a quilter, but I do enjoy art. Wow!

When I first saw this attraction listed, I thought it might be a bit of a snooze-fest. Yes, I've seen some lovely quilts in my day but who would pay to go see a room full of quilts? After reading the reviews, we decided to go and I am SO glad we did! This place was not at all what I imagined and there is no way anyone could imagine what these quilts are actually like. They are true works of art. Some I swore were paintings on canvas until I got up close enough to actually see the detailed and intricate sewing that created the vision. A few were double sided; some were unusual shapes and others included the use of non-fabric items. The most fascinating 'work of art' here was a quilt carved from wood that even when we were standing right in front of it, we thought was a fabric quilt and were still looking around for the wooden one! This attraction really is worth scheduling time to see.
