We visited this lovely space specifically to attend a Celtic outdoor music concert. Jerry O'Sullivan and friends were outstanding. They delighted the audience. As I looked the list of previous concerts, it was obvious that Sembrich is hopping all summer long. We'll be sure to catch more concerts in the future. The artistic director Richard was hospitable and knowledgeable.

Such a treasure in a beautiful setting! Richard, the curator is a wealth of knowledge about a very interesting and talented woman. The small museum is filled with amazing , well- preserved memorabilia. So impressive. The grounds and view are beautiful. The next day, we attended a jazz and wine reception as a benefit for the museum. What a great late afternoon. Visit this free magical place!

On a beautiful summer day, we planned to have dinner at the historic Sagamore in Bolton Landing. While exploring this quaint town, we stumbled upon this small museum. It was an enlightening experience. Marcella Sembrich traveled the world and delighted world leaders with her beautiful soprano voice. The evidence is here. Her memorabilia includes a letter from Mark Twain; a diamond bracelet from Tsar Alexander II, newspaper articles reviewing her performance with Caruso at his initial appearance. The doscent provided much interesting information about Sembrich. The cottage is located on the banks of Lake George in a beautifully wooded area. A walking path runs through the property, and strategically located viewing areas have seating for those who wish to pause and take in the beautiful views. There is no admission charge, but donations are appreciated.

The curator was very knowledgable and took the time to give us the history. Really enjoyed the displays like the fan collection, costume trunks by Louis Vuitton and the banners/ribbons from flower presentations.

Incredible classical music performances in a small lakeside studio setting.

The Marcella Sembrich Memorial Association has created a charming museum of the personal effects of this turn-of-the-century Metropolitan Opera Museum, housed in the woodland lakeside studio she built to instruct her voice and instrumental music students from Juilliard and The Curtis Institute. Those attending a concert in this intimate setting know how it would have felt to hear chamber music in the salons and parlors of 19th century Europe. Many programs here are free and the rest highly reasonable. The museum asks only for donations. Take a stroll around the grounds and gaze out over beautiful Lake George. Curl up on a bench and read a novel. Venue may be booked for private occasions, I've been told. It's such a peaceful and charming setting.

A truly unique look back into history through the life of opera diva Marcella Sembrich. Whether you are an opera fan or not, the Sembrich is worth a visit and is nearby to downtown Bolton Landing. The Sembrich offers an absolutely gorgeous place for a walk along a landscaped pathway. Do take time to enjoy the grounds and the museum as well. It's a quiet and pleasant attraction likely overlooked by the vast majority of tourists to the Lake George region. Take a step back in history and quietly reflect on the beauty of the Adirondack region and if you can, be sure to take in one of their excellent concerts during the summer concert season.
