Bad Things: Breckenridge is expensive and crowded. There are limited or no partnerships (I've never found any for the Vail resorts) with local businesses and shops. Discount ticket options (which are pretty common at most other non-Vail resorts) aren't really available for a 2 to 5 day trip. The layout is a little inefficient with a lot of traversing...and that's after you get on the mountain following a gondola ride. The groomed runs all seem the same. One should expect HUGE lift lines and crowded slopes.Good Things: Breckenridge has a lot of runs. There are some runs experts can enjoy; steeps, hike-to's, and bowls. The town is one of the great ski towns of the US west, not just a "Bavarian-style" village full of condos, rentals, and souvenir shops. The staff seems friendly overall...surprisingly not a given at ski resorts. Breckenridge does a great job in creating an experience that "feels" like a ski resort vacation.Debatable Things: There are a lot of sunny days and fewer stormy days than a lot of resorts in other regions. People seem to like that. I'm not sure why people seem to like that at a ski resort, but it's there. You can pick a better, alternative resort for your ski & snowboarding vacation. Seriously, go somewhere else. Whatever you think you like about Breckenridge is available elsewhere and for cheaper.

Driving to Breckenridge we came to the resort complex and parked in town for a $12 fee. After catching a shuttle bus, we disembarked near the ticket office and stood in line with hundreds of our closest friends. The surroundings are impressive, with massive and elegant housing units and well-maintained retail facilities; everything is on a big scale. Twenty minutes from the rear to the front of the ticket line. Lift tickets are not discounted for military retirees, but a senior discount cut an inconsequential $10 off the $140/day price. Then to the lift line, at least 200 people ahead of us, and the same number in a second line of equal length to board the alternating 6-person chair on a two-loading-area detachable lift. People kept getting crossed up in the chairs. Many lift stops to clean up the messes. Time from locking my car to the top of the chair lift, 85 minutes on a weekday in February. Throughout the day lines of 5-15 minutes at every lift on the mountain. The mountain is excellent. Great runs, gorgeous scenery, hard to ask for more...But all the things around it? After skiing Breckenridge, Copper Mountain, Arapahoe Basin and Loveland Basin over 8 days, I find myself wondering why pay a GREAT deal extra for a maximum of inconvenience and standing around, and far fewer vertical feet of quality skiing. And I guess the answer is clear. If you want to do a LOT more than ski on any given day, and to pay dearly for it, then this and other similar facilities around the West are right for you.Now I've been there, done that and paid richly for the experience. There are excellent mountains that may skimp some on the glam but not on the skiing. I'm not in the Breckenridge target demographic. Adios, Breck.

Awesome. Nothing more. Best mtn have skied. Helps it was sunny and 40 at the summit which is at 13,000. 4,000 feet of vertical. Terrain park, double black diamonds. The real ones. Bring your adventure. Got a day to blow. Head to the mountains

We skied Keystone, Breckenridge and Arapahoe Basin in February 2015. All three hills are 5 star in my opinion as I found something to love about each. What sets Breckenridge apart is the sheer size and variety of terrain available. This place is simply enormous and was by far the largest of the three Colorado resorts we skied. As a result, there is truly something for everyone regardless of skill level. This would be the place I would most recommend for beginners as it had the most green-rated runs that I saw on our trip. It also had the most lift-serviced terrain above treeline, with tonnes of gnarly blue, black and double black terrain for the more experienced skier.Breckenridge also has the largest and most developed village which I suspect results in the best apres-ski / nightlife in the area. I didn't partake so can't be 100% sure, but there are lodges, bars and restaurants spread all over the place. The downside of Breckenridge's massive size is that it tends to be the most crowded and the most expensive. This applies to lift tickets, to food and drink and to lodgings. The lines were very short mid-week, but it was still the busiest place we visited.Nonetheless, an amazing place that would take days to ski everything.

We brought our kids here for their first skiing trip. The green runs were gentle enough for first timers, but enjoyable for experienced skiers. In addition to the greens, there were a wide variety of more challenging runs. Resort service seems to be good, we were always greeted as we arrived. In addition, a generator went out on a lift we were on and when we exited the lift we were given free lift passes for another day. Skiing was great, but be warned DO NOT eat on the mountain....food is terribly expensive. You will end up paying about $20 per person. Bring a backpack to ski with that can hold your lunch or snacks.

A great trip. Lost of slope options and great runs. Sunny days - sunscreen and stamina needed. Food on the slopes has gotten better - although a bit pricey for simpler fair and non-alcoholic drinks. That said, if you don't have fun in Breckenridge it's your own fault!

Our family had skied Breck for several years and we continue to come back. The mountain has runs for all kinds of skiers and provides amazing views. On many runs, we were the only people skiing down. This was extremely surprising since we were there during a very busy spring break week. We very much enjoyed Main Street where we had dinner on a couple of nights, shopped and soaked in the Breckenridge vibe.We will be back!

$141 a day?!? Really? I skied Beaver Creek over Christmas & Near Years and paid less plus Beaver Creek hands out hot cookies every day at the lift lines and has less wind. The warming hut under the Imperial Lift is the worst smelling place I've EVER been and that includes outhouses. I don't know what my $141 paid for but it certainly didn't pay for ventilation. It was horrible. Absolutely horrible. I feared I wouldn't be able to get the stink out of my ski gear.

We weren't sure about the resort the 1st day, but being "older" skiiers have decided to ski easy runs in the morning to save some muscle power for intermediates in the afternoon. We were disappointed in the green runs--very flat & crowded. The next day however, we made our way over to Peak 7, & found just the kind of runs we love....blue with rolling hills, not too steep--very fun if that's what you like to ski on. The mountain was easy to navigate & most of the lodging is close by. Mainstreet downtown is all within about 3 blocks, making it easy & fun to explore. We'll be back.

From beginner to expert, Breck has something for everyone. The bowls are the funnest, challenging skiing you'll do. Trees, bumps, nice wide blues, well marked easiest route greens, free parking and numerous shuttles if you're not staying in a ski in ski out condo. Ski school was easy for first timers. Lift lines were reasonable even on the busiest weekend days

Since they added peak 6 last year it has doubles the fun factor. Steep and long runs there with a side of awesome bumps and bowls. Breck is my favorite mountain

I am an intermediate blue groomed girl. Breck had some really nice mellow wide blue runs. Would have liked more challenge but then I just went to a black like Spruce which is like a blue elsewhere. What I found most difficult was getting from peak to peak. Not easy so you end up just skiing one peak. Lines are long but they move. Grooming was nice and great aerial jumps for those who can do that! Food is not as good as utah resorts. Overall a nice trip with a great town. Not sure I would come back as I fly from out east. I did like it more than beaver though. Watch out for altitude. My friend did not handle it well so she only skied one day. The gondola from peak 8 to peak 7 is unfortunately annoying as you have to schlep down stairs and walk back up some steps to get back to the same level as the gondola. They should have engineered it better. Tiring. Good mountain for the family to ski together. However as mentioned before the blues are v mellow and no good black just next to the blue for a more advanced skier to ski.

Some people will say it is too crowded over the weekends and some times this is correct but the weekdays are great. The town is great, great places to drink and eat. Place like Modis and Mother Loaded make the town!

I am a very novice snow boarder. I have never been on skis and I've been snowboarding 7 or 8 times now in 4 years. I love it more each time. Last year I went to Breckenridge and returned this year. It's expensive. It's super family friendly. It's great for groups. They know what they are doing. I'm a fan of renting gear each time I go. It makes the travel easier. Last year I stayed right at the slope. This year I went with 7 others and we rented a house. The difference is that we cooked our own meals this year. I prefer to cook my own meals but I prefer to be right on the slope. I'll figure something different out for next time. I love the challenge of the entire adventure. There are plenty of opportunities to get lessons if you need them. Everyone out on the slopes is friendly. Everyone who works there is just as friendly.
