Flew into Minneapolis and was really put off by the feel of the city. Caponi park was my light in the storm. Just an amazing place. I could have stayed all day!

Nice place to walk but would not go out of my way to go to see sculptures. Most are old and need refurbishing. Concert area is nice.

We checked this out this past summer. What an incredible place to visit. The art work is interesting and the grounds are beautiful. So well taken care of. There is even an amphitheater on site where special events take place through out Park season. You feel as though you are in a different world surrounded by woods and trees that are incredibly old. Make sure that you check out a 3-ring binder which explains the different art works and their history. It will make the experience even more enjoyable. I would highly recommend to others.

My father came in from the East Coast for a visit so I took him to this Art Park over the weekend. The grounds are immaculate and it really feels like you are in the middle of a secluded wood when you are on some of the paths, rather than a few feet from a major road. The sculptures are interesting and thought provoking. I wish there was more information included on some of the pieces but many of them need no explanation.I will say that some of the paths are a bit hilly and my father had some difficulty walking on them, so if you visit, be prepared for a slightly difficult walk and bring good shoes, but this is definitely a place in Eagan I would recommend visiting

This is a laid back, pleasant destination. Tony Caponi was an art professor at Macalester College. The park was originally his playground for sculpture design and is now part of the Dakota County Park system. You will find winding trails decorated with stone sculptures. Various scheduled activities take place during spring, summer, and fall including musical performances, creative classes, medieval demonstrations, and acting performances. It's a fun family place or a good place to connect with nature.

Caponi Art Park is like a surprise package. You never know what you'll find when you wander around. There are sculptures set among the beautifully forested property, as well as an outdoor amphitheater (on the ground seating), with a variety of performances available to the public at a small charge, including Shakespeare in the Park series. If you like nature, seeing this beautiful property is worth the trip.

I live little more than two miles from the art park. I won’t argue about the quality of the art or the idea of having an outdoor art park. Some people may love the place because it is open air. My beef is the lack of help interpreting the art. Many of the pieces just sit there with virtually no information about them: why and when they were created and what message was the artist conveying. The people who manage the art park should spend some time creating a history and story for each piece. With that completed I'd rate it a 'three' or a 'four'.

Caponi Art Park is a beautiful haven in the midst of busy city life. We really enjoy going for their Sunday Performance Series in the summer - they've had a number of phenomenal performers every summer. There's not much better than enjoying a great performance in a beautiful outdoor amphitheater! They also offer a Family Fun Tuesday program in the summer with short programs for kids. We've spent time after the programs walking through the park - it's like a scavenger hunt to walk the trails and see the various art installations. Cheryl and Tony Caponi and their staff are always very welcoming - it's a great place to enjoy summer and fall adventures!

The art is spread out over many acres for you to explore. It is in a peaceful area away from traffic noises. They have many events during the summer too.

How fortunate we are in the Twin Cities to have spots like this. Taking in a concert at the ampitheater is highly recommended.

This is a hidden gem in Eagan, a beautiful park with fascinating sculpture all through it. As a Shakespeare fan, I greatly enjoy visiting here when Shakespeare in the Park is there. Nothing quite like seeing a Midsummer Night's Dream in a wonderful park

If you have not taken time to tour this - especially if you are a native twin city dweller you must do so. The park is just lovely with lush gardens and quiet sculptures. We made a mistake and drove into the wrong driveway and Mr. Caponi came out of a workshop to direct us to the right drive. (this was a few years back). A true treasure.

What a wonderful place to visit in an urban area- wow -amazed at what Mr. Caponi has accomplished. We enjoyed visiting the sculptures and the setting was very tranquil and beautiful-only complaint was the mosquitoes in the wooded areas.
