We happened on this memorial on our way out of town after lunch. Unfortunately, even though the building should have been open that day, it wasn't, so we didn't get to see the little museum inside. Outside, there is a replica of the Vietnam Memorial Wall, along with a book to look up names. This is like the traveling wall that visits different cities from time to time. There were also several very good murals on the wall of the building. It's worth a stop even if the building is closed.

We walked around after-hours with our dog. It was a beautiful, quiet walk, with the mountains all around and a nice view from the memorials area. The sheer number of the memorials is astounding, although their smaller scale makes them slightly less impressive (although the whole area displays a deep respect for our veterans). Good for history buffs or a quick stop to stretch your legs.

I could not stop crying when I saw my brothers name on the wall. Give thanks to those that gave all. Take your kids to see our true Brave men and women.

It is difficult to really enjoy a memorial, since it brings back bad memories for my husband and me. However, the volunteers at this particular place were sensitive to our needs. The display was well thought out, and the overall quality was calming.

This park is a reminder of what our countrymen and women have given for us. Because they were willing to fight for this country and to die for it is beyond words. I have a friend on that wall and I am so grateful for the community to have placed this memorial so we could all visit. It is conveniently located right on the highway. Beautifully and lovingly cared for.

This monument resembles the Vietnam Memorial in Washington DC. Names are inscribed on a long angular black tablet set in an embankment. Over the years, there have been many additions to recognize other wars. A small visitor's center was also built within the past few years. There is some walking to do to get from the main monument up to some of the other areas, but I don't think it is too strenuous for most. It is a beautiful monument, which came from the heart of a local man and a small group that made it all happen.

Large park with good facilities & history available. We visited the park, took pictures and marveled that a city would change its name to obtain a park.

We found this lovely park by chance while driving around the town. It has a trail and tablets describing each of the 16 wars in our history. Very moving and peaceful. There are flags in the center and some monuments, as well as a museum that we did not get to. It is worth visiting if you are in the area.
