You cannot beat the Hotel Molokai's bar for great drinks great prices and friendly service. Atmosphere glaore right on the water and feel o hawaii of old.

We stayed one night at the the Hotel Molokai, and visited the bar for some pre-dinner drinks. There was just 3 locals, the bartender and us. and we all quickly became friends! The drinks were very good and the fruit was fresh. One of the locals even recommended the Paddler's Inn in Kaunakakai for dinner. The bar itself is located right next to the pool and on the water, with great views of Lanai.The restaurant is still not open (the bartender said they're still awaiting lumber from Maui). Previous reviews noted that they were serving food Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, but we went on a Wednesday evening (Sept. 3) and were told that city regulations only allow them to serve food on Mondays from now on until the restaurant is fully rebuilt.

If you are thinking grand hotel on a beach in Hawaii this isn't for you! But if you want a beautiful, authentic Polynesian atmosphere it is stunning!Spacious rooms...individual Polynesian huts. Comfy beds. Kitchenette. No air conditioning but fans and trade winds do the job at night. Great pool and bar. Restaurant wasn't re opened when we were there but is open now or soon from what I understand.Beaches are close. No swimming in ocean off hotel...too dangerous in the channel.Staff are attentive and super friendly! The entire island is worth exploring from the ocean to the mountains! Peaceful and authentically Hawaiian!

Last summer the restaurant at the Hotel Molokai was damaged by fire. It still has not reopened, however the bar is flourishing. Due to a friend who has a house on Molokai, i have visited this bar on perhaps too many occasions. It is right on the beach and has a great view of the water. It is very charming and has very good local specialty drinks. There is not a ton to do on Molokai, although it is one of my favorite places, but this place is a good gathering spot. They also have local music often and that adds to the very good ambiance. I have always been treated very well there and hopefully will make many more visits.

Meet new friends and share travel stories with locals and fellow travelers alike. The bartenders are great (don't forget to tip) and very easy going.
