camarillo grove park

This is a park in an old oak grove just off 101, with some large group areas and BBQ pits, and a small creek running through. Dogs are allowed, off leash, in the whole park during the week, but only in the fenced dog park on the weekend (but there is rarely a park ranger, so who would know?)

If the fence still has a hole in it, head North-West (opposite the freeway from the parking lot) into the hills just beyond and hunt around for little quartz geodes about half the size of a normal pinkie fingertip. This is easiest done after a fire and rain when you can see the ground more easily, but you can also hunt in the valleys and near the dry riverbed for them. Take water because it can get very hot in the little valley there, with little breeze, even on the hillsides.

A nice little park located at the base of the Conejo Grade in Camarillo. Take the Camarillo Grove exit and head about 1/2 mile south down a fairly narrow road to the entrance. If there isn't a guard there, you can slip the entry fee into a box. It's a good place for off leash dogs but I think that policy may be weekdays only so check before you take Fido. Its a nice park to go during the week but I know it gets pretty crowded on weekends.

This is a great place to bring your kids and explore! Lots of trees for shade and the dog park right next to it so there are lots of dogs to look at! Also a small hiking trail that is fun with my kids

Right off the freeway and still quiet. This is a good place for a large family gathering as there are barbecues and covered picnic ares.
