This place is a must see and Mr. Knight is just as much as an attraction as his farm. He and his business is what I would consider American ingenuity at it's finest.

week day , person who makes them wasn't there. Small gift shop to purchase them. Boring. No bathroom. Up a steep hill.

We went to the Spider Web Farm in late August. Unfortunately, Will was not there, nor was anyone from his family as there was a family emergency. But, in true VT fashion, they left the doors to the exhibit and gift shop open. We selected a couple of spider web plaques and left money, tax, and our phone number (this is the stuff I love about much of VT, reminds me of simpler times in my childhood). Surprisingly, we received a call that evening from Mrs. Will, who answered several of our questions about the spiders. There are LOTS of spiders here, they are all over the place!! I almost stepped on one, be careful they are all around. So cute! Takes about 30-60 mins to see it all. This exhibit is 7 miles south of the Rock of Ages Quarry, which also highly recommend, so makes it convenient to see several attractions in the nearby Barre area. It is very easy to get to as it is right off VT 14 on Spider Web Farm Road. Have Fun!

After seeing sparse reviews on TA for this place, we decided to go because it was close to Montpelier and the weather was awesome.I'm glad we did! It was a tiny little "farm" house off the beaten path up a little hill, and we were the only ones there. We liked it that way- Mr. Knight was all too happy to share with us the history of this accidental business and how much he enjoys sharing it. He was friendly and even my 4yo liked talking with him. My husband asked how he does it, and we were surprised he jumped out from the counter and welcomed us over to the "shop." It was really neat to see, and he even let us buy the one he made in front of us (discounted, because he said he was picky about his standards and didn't want to overcharge when he knew tomorrow he'd have been able to make it nicer). We liked it the way it was because in a way it was made just for us! Pretty neat, you won't forget it. You could easily spend an hour or so here talking with the owner, which really adds character to the experience.

See what can be done with spider webs spun by spiders raised by hand in a barn!

The owner is quite an interesting character. We planned to spend about 30 minutes but ended spending an hour chatting with Mr. Knight and admiring his spider web art work. It's not a far drive from Hope Cemetery. Here's the link to some pics.http://colinspics.phanfare.com/4398062Enjoy,Colin
