I've been going to play these trivia games for about 2 years now. Gave it a try one Tuesday night at Soup to Nuts after seeing an ad in the local coupon book, and I was hooked by the host's entertaining style, great music between questions and fun categories. Since then, I have also played Mondays at Lake Dora Sushi and Sake (my personal favorite location, mostly for the food - but all are fun) and Cousin Vinnie's Chicken Wings on Wednesdays near Lake Square Mall. They are adding a new Thursday spot at the Baytree Cafe. It's so much fun that I'd play every night if I could afford all that dining out! Winning once in a while helps, as the prizes are gift certificates for each restaurant.

We are Trivia fans and hoped to enjoy this team at Soup To Nuts Diner. We arrived early so we could figure out the rules and how the game is played. There were several large tables containing 6 or more people, and other tables of 4. There were only 2 tables of 2 people. We recognized that the size created a marginal disadvantage to our success. We selected a team name, which seemed to delight the managers of the trivia game because they made "funny" comments about it all evening. Clearly the rest of the players were well known to the managers of the game as there were many personal comments. We felt as if we had crashed a party to which we had not been invited. We returned four more times trying to "fit in" to the activity. No one ever spoke to us, and the managers continued to ridicule our team name. I appreciate that it adds to the competitive spirit to announce the teams that are doing well, but it is embarrassing to have the results of all teams announced frequently, particularly if you at the bottom of the game, and even more so if you are ridiculed for your team standing. The regular people and the managers of the game had a good time. For us it was five nights of feeling foolish, embarrassed and unwanted. While we occasionally enjoy breakfast at Soup to Nuts, their evening offerings are diner style food, which I would rank at about a "C" level. We have no reason to return. The game was not fun, and the food is sub-par. Too bad because it was an interesting concept, just not managed in a welcoming or positive way.

Looking for something the whole family can enjoy? This trivia night was tons of fun, and we all enjoyed delicious diner food in a 50's atmosphere. Casual and cozy, family-oriented, and a great value. (Great prizes, too!) Looking forward to going again when back in the area to visit family.
