We always make a point to go to Tubac when we visit Tucson, and our first stop is always La Paloma. The merchandise doesn't change much, but the store contains so many different rooms and outdoor areas, each with a different native craft from Central America. Perfect for gifts to bring home. You don't need to go to Mexico to get good prices, and the quality is uniformly good. Fabrics, ceramics, glass, jewelry, are just the beginning.

This is a wonderful shop with lots of interesting and unique stuff from Latin America. They have something for everyone - pottery, clothes, textiles, and a great selection of santos. Most recently got a beautiful ruana cloak there. I have a blouse from there I've had for years. Lots of cool Mexican painted pottery, nativities, glassware, etc etc.

If you are looking for some amazing Yard Art this is the place to look. Their selection is gigantic. If you can't find something here you probably won't find it in Tubac. The indoor shop has lots of selection from Peru to check out.

Tubac itself is a wonderful little town just south of Tucson, and near the missions of San Javier Del Bac and Tumacacori. The highlight of any trip to Tubac is the incredible store La Paloma. Bill Green and a delightful and knowledgable staff have created the finest shop for Mexican and Latin American arts and crafts in the Southwest. For example, La Paloma has the very finest examples of Mexican Talavera wear that I have ever seen, at prices that are extremely fair and reasonable. The collection of textiles, crafts and other delights from Mexico, Peru, Equador and other great craft producing nations is mind-blowing, and the envy of museums of similar focus. La Paloma should be a must-stop on every Southwestern travelers itinerary.

If you are looking for Latin American furnishings or ceramics or souvenirs or even clothing, pass up all those places in the new part of Tubac and go where the prices are right and so is the merchandise. La Paloma has an unbelievable selection that has something for everyone.

My friend took me to this 'shop' - which is like taking a trip through Latin America. There are some large items - like tile tables with chairs, huge pots (for trees or fountains) and lots of painted wood art and pottery pieces. I don't usually like shopping, but there was such diversity here that I couldn't resist purchasing. I wanted to know if I could order from a website as I knew I couldn't take pottery on a plane! They explained that they don't have one but offered to ship my purchase - which I immediately took advantage of.Their prices are very competitive - later we saw similar items in a shop in Tucson's Lost Barrio for almost double what they were selling them for!

Other shops come and go but this one just gets better. Be sure to make your way over to La Paloma de Tubac on the East side of Tubac at the corner of Calle Iglesias and Presidio Drive! Long established, well managed shop with best selection pottery, glassware, jewelry, and International gifts in the City. Wide selection at reasonable prices. I've been stopping there for 20-plus years when I travel and am never disappointed.

When you arrive in the small, artsy town of Tubac, pick up a map and head over to La Paloma de Tubac! The shop, which stocks pottery, jewelry, clothing, dishes, gifts and treasures from Latin America, is located in a quiet area of Tubac and has something for everyone. Once you have experienced La Paloma de Tubac, you will look forward to returning again and again.

La Paloma de Tubac is an incredible museum( it's actually a retail store) where you can actually buy the pieces. Bill and Cheryl obtain and display the most beautiful and exotic artwork from all over Latin America. Just walking around this tastefully laid out store is an amazing experience. Much of the pottery, clothing and other items for sale have been produced by indigenous people that the owners have personal relationships with. These artisans are getting fair prices for their work -- an unfortunately rare occurrence. When you buy an item, you will often get information about the actual person or persons who actually made it. La Paloma de Tubac is one of those places where shopping is a rich experience -- even if you don't buy anything. If you plan to go to the many shops in Tubac, go first to La Paloma and take it all in.

Any visit to Tubac would not be complete without a stop at the La Paloma de Tubac store! La Paloma showcases wonderful pottery and gifts from Latin America and the store is just a short walk from the main historic shopping area (or an even shorter drive - there are several parking spaces in front of the store). Everytime I go here I find something fantastic to buy for myself or a friend!
