Be sure to check out the Tubac Center of the Arts. After wondering around town checking out all the wonderful galleries and shops we spent some time in the Tubac Center of the Arts. There were very few people there and that was a shame as the place has a much larger collection than we imagined. Some of the pieces were also for sale. No charge to get in but donations are accepted.

I walked through this building while attending the art festival. Great gift shop with helpful staff and pretty reasonable prices. It was a well-needed break from the sun and heat, and I bought a cute little trinket to take home with me.

The entire small town has artisan quality merchandise and nice little restaurants to sit outside and people watch. I bought several items and was so pleased with the quality. Allow a couple of hours at least to walk around the area and then see the Museum which takes at least another hour or two. Driving time is about 30 minutes out of Tuscon.

Definitely something to check out when visiting this historic settlement. The surrounding mountain ranges and natural beauty is inspiration to a number of artists residing in the area.

Don't take people who don't like to browse, to shop, to stroll. Our visit was a little rushed because many in the group were not interested at all in the Mexican arts and crafts, of which there were many. And we didn't get to Tubac until after 4, not a good plan as the shops mostly close at 5.

Currently there is a show of beautiful Navaho rugs. They look brand new but are all over 100 years old. Stunning is the word and with many well displayed in one room it is breath-taking. Worth a view or two!

Just barely on anyones radar as far as the art world is concerned. Not even close to what Marfa, Texas has to offer. Just saying if you have the choice go to Marfa.

We were there for a concert of the Marimbas and it was great! Beautiful experience, everything was very well organized. Besides the performance the organizers are so polite and friendly. Hope to come back soon. They offered us some wine and cheese after so we had time to see all the art shown at the center. Highly recommended.

A friend and I decided to drive down from Phoenix to attend an art opening at the Tubac Center of the Arts. We went to several cute little shops in the afternoon before heading to the opening. The art show was wonderful, with work from artists all over the country. There were lots of people there and we had a great time. The Center's staff and volunteers were very nice and helpful. They spoke with us about the art in the show and gave us a great restaurant recommendation for afterwards. I hope to make it back there again soon. Definitely worth the drive from Phoenix!

Just saw the 5 gardens for upcoming Garden Tour. WOW Ticket includes "The Art of Bonsai on April 12.

The sculpture selected to be placed out front does nothing to enhance the terrible new design of the building. There are good artists in Tubac and why they are not shown at this art center has always been a mystery to me when I have visited.

Excellent experience shopping for the day at the various shops in Tubac! There is something for everyone, "nicknack-paddy-wack", paintings, sculptures, jewelry, etc. The shopkeepers were friendly, informative, and helpful. Many of the shops enlisted artifacts from South America, as well as Mexico. The restaurants and snack shops were varied and excellent. The volume of shops was also excellent, we couldn't get to even half of them. You can visit Tubac over and over and not see the same shops. Great spot!

TCA and the infamous Mountain Oyster Club of Tucson are working together to provide an opportunity for the public to see selected Western art that has never been made available to the public before. On display from this private collection are many noted artists, some being members of CAA: Tim Cox, John Moyers, Robert Daughters, Howard Post, Robert "Shoofly" Shufelt, Mary Wyant, Harley Brown, Don Crowley, Gayle Nelson, Carol Swinney, as well as, Tom and Barbara Hill. This beautiful exhibit will be open to the public through December 22nd. Though MOC's has generously loaned the art, at no expense to this lovely community gallery in Tubac, a small contribution of $5 would be greatly appreciated to cover associated expenses for hosting this prestigious collection of many award winning artists

My wife, some friends and myself went to Tubac on Saturday the 21st of September. This was the first time any of us have ever been there to actually check out what there was to offer. After doing so we all said that we would be back. If you like the different kinds of art work and gallerys with so many items to buy then this is the place for you. Not only do you find that one item that is unique but the prices are not that unreasonable. We also had dinner there at the restaurant Tubac Jacks which was very good. The other reason that I found pretty neat was all the history that Tubac has to offer. Like I said we'll be back

We went during the low season and many places were closed and most of the shops we could afford were the same items. It seems like an interesting community and may be more lively during the high (cool) season.
