It is one "must visit" in Galicia. The views are amazing from the castro to the top of the Santa Trega mountain. There is also the opportunity to have a guided visit for free.

I've just written a review of Santa Tecla Celtic Village - this is the one and same place so don't be confused. In the local language this is Santa Trega and in Catellano this is Santa Tecla so don't expect to be visitiing two different places!! Believe me, a visit to either (they are the same place) is a magnificent reward and, should you be on the Spanish/Potuguese coastal border, you should visIt - WITHOUT FAIL.

Steep drive with some killer bends but you are rewarded with some wonderful views over the river to Portugal. There is parking at the top, next to the viewpoint and a couple of cafés and stands selling tourist souvenirs. Two thirds of the way up is the Celtic village which is worth stopping for. Partially reconstructed settlement (just lower walls) with two reconstructed houses. I've never seen anything like it and really enjoyed wandering around and trying to imagine it. The reconstructed houses are fairly accessible to bad walkers but the rest of the village is not. Parking is a little bit tricky, with very few spaces.

Drive up...bit steep in parts, but worth it. The views are beautiful....lots of photo opportunities. Cafes and shops available...can get busy but choose a clear day!

Can be accessed by car, excellent view of river Minho estuary, A Guarda harbor, Galician and Portuguese cost and Atlantic Ocean, as well as remains of Celtic settlement

Had the pleasure of climbing the 300 metres to the top of this mountain on the Portuguese border. The tough assent was rewarded with magnificent views at the top. The old Celtic village was an interesting feature as was the Stations of the cross on the final assent. Well worth the effort. You can also drive to the top but surely not as exciting!

Easy drive all the way up. Could see into Portugal, up the river Mino and up the Atlantic coast. Very interesting excavations, with puzzling, ancient urban planning. Went to a nice restaurant in O Guarda by the port afterwards.
