This museum is located in the centre of the city and traces the history of the region from prehistory through the Romans to the modern day. It is filled will archaeological discoveries as well as cultural iconography. On the day of our visit, entry was free but on other days it is a cheap place to visit.

Stayed at the parador that the museum is in. Beautiful gardens,walk ways,statues etc. Very quiet place if you want to just unwind and enjoy the art and history.

I stayed in the Parador which is connected to the museum through the breezeway and this was a really nice way to unwind one evening by walking through the museum (and worth the 60p). It makes you feel adn understand the ways that thsi monestary/hospital/etc. has been part of so many people and generations. Beautiful, old carvings and rich paintings are delights.

Really interesting, takes you through the history of Spain in this region, starting with the section of coins through to contemporary Spain. We learnt some interesting historical facts. Again like the Cathedral very cheap to visit, 1 euro 20 I think. Well worth a visit.

We were luckyt enough to be staying at the Parador in Leon which is part of the museum. The gardens, church, patios, statues, all beautifully restored.Worth a visit.

Having gone along expecting a standard museum with lots of things in glass boxes with Spanish descriptions that I couldn't quite decipher, I was pleasantly surprised by Leon's museum. It's recently be built and it showed. Everything's in English as well as Spanish, and it gives a really interesting account of the history of Leon and its region. Particularly striking are its collection of stones with inscriptions in the basement, many of which are Roman.

Fuimos a visitarlo porque nos dijeron en información y turismo que los sábados a las 12.00 hay una visita guiada gratuita y que merecía la pena. Nos acercamos y la verdad es que nos sorprendió para bien el museo.El chico que nos dio la visita, chapó, se hizo súper corta contándonos cosas interesantes de la ciudad y la provincia.Creo que merece la pena hacerla visita guiada. De no haberlo hecho así hay muchas cosas pero no le das el valor que tienen.

復活祭の前の一週間はスペイン全土、どの町でも聖週間（セマヌ・サンタ　ｓemana ｓanta）が毎日模様される。キリストのエルサレムでの受難を再現するために、キリストや十字架、棺などの山車(Imagen、Paso)を担いで、街中を練り歩くのである。丁度この館の前で写真撮影をした。レオンにおいては、特に聖ヨハネと聖母マリア、キリストが面会する様子を3つのグループが表現する『面会の礼拝行進』有名でこの行進を見るために再度訪れた次第である。

Si te gustan los restos de historia es un buen sitio para pasar el rato. Hay restos de objetos prehistóricos, romanos, medievales, etc. No es muy grande pero como en todos los museos, si te gusta, puedes estar varias horas. Es curioso.

Es un gran museo en que nos relata la Historia del Reino de León en el que se permite interactuar con elementos del medievo y con pantallas virtuales y vídeos. así como reproducciones a tamaño real de personajes de la historia.

Musée très intéressant qui donne des explications en anglais ce qui est plutôt rare apparemment en Espagne.Nous avons spécialement aimé:- l'extraordinaire exposition numismatique avec les explications sur l'apport de cette discipline à la compréhension de l'histoire et de la politique;- la reconstitution d'une villa romaine;- etc.

Una visita interesante, curiosa la colección de monedas y el recorrido por el edificio. Una vista espectacular de la catedral desde la parte alta del edificio.

Cualquiera debe ser consciente de la ciudad en la que está a fin de no crearse falsas expectativas, pero en esta ocasión, aunque la entrada es muy barata, 0,60 €, a este museo lo encontré bastante desangelado y falto de al menos alguna obra que le diese calidad. Visita corta.

Zuletino

Nos gustó mucho la visita guiada que era conducida por una chica joven que debía ser historiadora. Como era de esperar tiene mucho peso el pasado romano y todo lo acontecido a orillas del Esla. Piezas interesantes, y algunas otras no tanto en la parte más contemporánea.
