If you love bicycles, I highly recommend you do not miss this absolutely wonderful collection of antique bicycles and accessories. There are bicycles of every kind--casual riding, riding in style, service bicycles and racing bicycles. Unusual bicycles of all types and sizes.

I would totally recommend visiting this museum when you are at Nijmegen. It will be interesting not only for bicycle lovers (like I am), but absolutely for anyone. Museum is a private collection of bicycles from different epochs. You can see how bicycle changed over time. Be aware that all signs and descriptions are in Dutch. You can take a brochure translated in English but it is very small and not that informative.

Holland is all about bikes so it's only logical there's a bicycle museum. We went there with 2 small kids (4 and 6) and it was fun. It's not too big so we were out in an hour or so. It's nice to see how bikes evolved from the 1800s to today. Price is alright so if you're around give it a try.

Meh... This museum was quite average to me. There are a LOT of bikes but not very many explanations of how bikes worked, developed, etc. €5 is not thAt much money but I felt it was a waste

We visited this museum on a recent trip to Nijmegen. They have 3 floors of amazing cycles of all kinds dating from the 1800s to the modern day. The floors are small though, and the bikes are really jam-packed in there, which for me created a lot of visual noise. Nevertheless, it was a fascinating look at the history of the bicycle and they way bikes have been used over time. Also bicycle accessories (including gas-powered lanterns!), signage, etc... I definitely recommend a visit. It's 5 euros admission... well worth it!

We are touring cyclists and enjoyed viewing the MANY wonderful examples of bicycles and accessories. There is a guide in English. Almost all the cycles are labeled. There are 3 floors ! You will learn so much and be truly more knowledgable about bicycles after this visit.

Interested in Bicycles and their History, then this Museum is a definite MUST to visit if in the area. From the ground floor up you will find possibly the finest and largest collection of machines gathered in one place . . . . the earliest on the ground floor date from 1817 together with plenty of memorabilia taking you to around 1870. On the next level you will find machines from the 1870's to the 1900's, many the only known examples and on the top floor there stands a collection of Ordinaries, High Wheelers, Hogh Bi's [ call them what you will ] Penny Farthings to most of us and many other machines.Situated on the river front the Museum could be easily missed slotted amongst many other buildings . . but search and you will find, I'm sure.

For a die-hard bike enthusiast this would be a fascinating attraction. I cycle very often and love bikes, but I did not love this place. The entrance fee was not too costly (can't remember exact figures) but it's just as well. There's a wide array of very interesting models dating from hundreds of years back to the present day, but very little to guide you through apart from a brochure which I found a tad confusing. The cafe is unstaffed and tiny. This is a nice place which could be made so much better, check it out if you've run out of other options.

I'm Dutch so I happen to like bicycle but you could give it a try.Location is also nice at the banks of the Waal river (branch of the rhine river) with lots of restaurants in the neigbourhood and 500 m from the centre of the oldest dutch city

If you are in Nijmegen, then this is well worth seeing. I believe it is one of the best bicycle collections in the world. It will take you about an hour, depending on your degree of interest.

It is a little place that we didn't think it would have so many historical bicycles. There is 3 floors full of bikes from 1800s till vintage/retro bike from some decades ago. We loves bike already so this place is a really great place for us to visit. It might be a little boring as you go on because it is really just bicycles and at the time it was just us in the place.

On three floors there is a huge collection of cycles and cycle memorabilia. There were some particularly unusual items; such as a side by side tandem.. This museum is not suitable for small children as the collection is large and none of the display items are interactive. It would also be tricky for older people who cannot easily climb steep steps. But for fit adults and teenagers definitely worth a visit. The entrance fee of 4 Euros is modest and the location next to the river is very pleasant. There is a public car park near by and plenty of cafes/bars too for the exhausted bike fanatic.

It is a way to tell the story of a country through the ages. Plus if you stay in the Hotel Courage, entrance is free.

An interesting museum which extended over 3 storeys. An interesting variety if bicycles from the past. Perhaps it needs bringing up to date a little.

We spent longer here we had expected to, about 3 hours. The museum has an extensive collection of bicycles, some tri- and quad-wheelers too. The emphasis is on cycles built before 1950, with a few more recent racing models. If you can't read Dutch but can read English, buy the guidebook in English for €0.50. It is well worth it for appreciating the museum and learning bicycle history. See other reviews for descriptions of the collection. I don't think the museum has access for handicapped, and displays cover 3 floors.
