Was pouring rain but it just added to the seriousness of the artwork. Very grateful the local community allows us t see this important part of their history.

Great art made by people who had no hand in pretentiousness. Artistry in the truest sense by men who knew first hand of the conflict of the troubles and who could allude to hopes of a greater future.

Spotted these murals as we drove into Derry and heard about them again on our walking tour. Well worth a visit up close to see the incredible detail as well as read about what inspired the different pieces.

The museum and the murals are essential viewing for anyone traveling to London/Derry. The Derry murals are vivid and even more important, they evolve over time.

to say this was an 'average' experience is perhaps unfortunate....mixed is a better description. We visited the museum, and the photos are truly eye-opening. The guide tried to be very helpful but is from Southern Europe. My wife has a different memory as she grew up in 'London'Derry, and had personal experiences from the IRA which left her somewhat cross with the museum which has a catholic bias....atrocious behaviour on both sides wasn't as clearly represented as could have been.

If you are at all interested in this sad period of history, walking through the neighborhood to see these murals will be a moving experience for you. It is an astonishing display of public, political art.

We did Northern Ireland for the first 5 days of our 22 days in Ireland and I am glad we did it that way. The Bogside and Bloody Sunday were well presented and very emotionally presented by our guide (wish I could remember his name). We walked through the Free Derry/Bogside area and the wall murals tell a grime story. I thought the Rick Steves "Ireland" book had me prepared but it was more powerful seeing it & having someone explain just what happened. It's peaceful now but I am still upset and it has stayed with me. So glad that we got to see this.

the murals were so moving. they brought the experiences of the civil rights movement to light and to life. brought more than a few tears to my eyes.

Most (if not all) of the murals in Bogside were painted by this group of artists. We saw them when we visited Londonderry. So sad and really bring about the bad stuff that happened in this area but are also a sign of hope and peace.

The murals are a pictorial record of the Troubles and a stark reminder of the human cost of the events.

Having grown up in cork, I have seen these murals on the news since a young age.It was amazing to get up close to these amazing murals, theses murals form a party of history.

I saw some other murals in belfast but these were much better as they told the sorry in the 11 murals. The people of Derry are super friendly and almost everyone said hello as they went past. You any go to derry without seeing these

These three men - The Bogside Artists - have produced a body of work that instills great pride in being from Derry. Well done to each of them.

Incredible depiction of the "Troubles". Wander around from one mural to the next and take it all in.

Came across this one afternoon and nipped in for a better look at what we could see were striking photographs and art that makes you think. There were accounts of relatives etc who had been affected by 'the troubles' and they WILL make you think.
