The staff at Lapland Safari were quick to respond to all my email queries and answered all my questions thoroughly. They too offer a variety of tours.. (though I struggled to get to the right information quickly from their website!) The tours most of the companies offer are (and the costs) are all very similar... and I'm guessing many of these companies just resell "common services? So you could be booked by this or another company or by the front desk of your hotel - but you can end up being on the 'same husky or reindeer / or snowmobile tour'!So book your safari based on what sounds interesting / particular combination.. and based on what times work for you! Lapland Safari's deal with tourists all the time.. and know how to do it right!

The Husky trip was superb. The dogs were terrific, the guides and organisation peerless. Highlight of our trip! The nighttime was cold but great fun, full of atmosphere and interest.

I did a "Reindeer safari to Husky farm", and I really enjoyed it!I was suspicious, if the trip (€ 143,-) is worth it - it definitely is.Firstly, they bring you with a bus to the reindeer farm. After a short instruction and some time to get to know these sweet and calm animals, you get a relaxed ride through the wood.At the husky farm, you get a short, but really funny ride with the huskys. After that, you warm up yourself in a cottage with some hot berry juice and cookes, while they tell you about the general life of huskys and their husky farm.Outisde again, you can spend time with the huskies. In the end, you go back to the bus with the reindeers. They also provide warm clothes, so your own stay dry.

We did both the Snowmobile tour by night and the huskies tour by day. It was very exciting and everything ran perfectly. Lapland safari provides you with everything you need: overall ski suit, gloves, helmet, protections to keep you warm. During the snowmobile tour a small snack with sausages, tea, coffee, hot berry juice. For the Huskies tour, we were only 5 sledges and it was great. They told us that in peak season they are up to 20+ sledges in a row, and of course you make less travel. For us it was perfect. A tip: the farm is located next to Santa Claus village, so you can stay there after the tour and go by taxi back to city for instance. Definitely recommended.

This was the highlight of the trip, we did few outdoor activities like snow mobile, husky rides, reindeer ride and many other outdoor activities like driving on ice etc .. they were out of the world. the snow suit kept us warm.. and lapland guys definitely did a good job.

The look on my boys' faces when we arrived at the husky farm, the dogs all harnessed and barking for joy, eager to go for their run was magic. What a fantastic experience, whizzing through the silent white forest like the snow queen, and the spectacle of the dogs doing their business mid-sprint with the ensuing pong just about made the day perfect for my teens, who were in hysterics. They both had a go driving the sled, and the journey was long, so we really got our money's worth. They allowed the three of us on together too, which was a relief. We were accompanied by guides on snowmobiles who guided us round those tricky corners (at breakneck speed, hang on!). Afterwards hot fruit juice and biscuits and a chance to visit the puppies. Just lovely, utterly unforgettable.

My friends and I had signed up with Lapland Safaris for "In the Heart of Nature". It includes snowmobile, snow shoeing and ice fishing. It was an awesome experience. Lapland Safaris provided us with their overall, gloves and other necessities. They were good as they managed to keep us warm and we were not afraid of dirtying our own overall. Snowmobile was fun, guides were patience and helpful as well. During the snowmobile, we were stopped and had to do a breath analysis test conducted by the police. A few members had driven into the deep snow and had trouble leaving the snow. Guides were resourceful and patience in helping them to get out of the deep snow before proceeding on with the tour. Lunch was provided and it was nice. Berry juice was served and it tasted finger licking good. Wearing the snowshoe, we walk out in the frozen lake covered with snow to do ice fishing. Guides demonstrated how to "dig" a hole in the frozen lake with their equipment and how to do ice fishing. Having no experience, my friends and I had learnt alot and enjoyed ourselves.

A real fun Husky ride!More than 350 Huskies in this great farm. The guides are really professionals, the dogs are fun!!!Make sure you take the longer ride - 10km and dress up really warm.

Yesterday we had the pleasure of taking a safari with this company. As a couple of oldies I was a little hesitant as to how we would go on the snow mobiles but the boys were so helpful- they guided us through the process even helping get us back on track when we spun the machine "off piste"!!The reindeer rides were great- the animals were well cared for and the whole Safari experience far exceeded my expectation. The girls in the office located a book for me which we had left on a local bus!! So obligingly! and the guides were keen on the history of Finland which pleased my husband no end! They suggested that we went to Artikum after the safari- I. Fact they drove us there quite out of their way!!Thank you so much Pasi and Frank a job exceptionally well done!

We did the 3hour husky safari (with only 1h of actual husky safari) from 1pm-4pm. You go to the Lapland Safaris office where they give you nice and warm clothing (coat, shoes and socks and gloves) that you wear over your other clothes. Then they take you to their hidden husky camps thats near Santa's village but in the middle of the forest. You then do the safari, switching in the middle. It's a lot of fun but my feet got really cold, even with 3 pairs of socks, so don't hesitate to bring extra socks! Then we got to pet the dogs and go enjoy this very good hot berry juice with little cookies. They even brought in a pup ! Finally they took us to go pet the other dogs while waiting for the bus to come pick us up. The dogs really enjoyed being petted a little. It made me sad to learn that because there are so many dogs (over 300 dogs), they don't have time to bond with every single one, so only about 100 dogs know their own names, and those are usually the ones that we there when there were less dogs and more bonding. Our guide was really nice, although he didn't seem so at first. After I asked him a few questions he really opened up! It was nice to go during this season because there were only 12 of us. I found it to be very expensive for "so little" but the guide explained to me that, although they make all their money in 4 months, their dogs need to be fed all 12 months, and it is expensive to feed over 300 dogs. It made me feel a little better to be paying so much.

Had today the Northern Light tour on snowmobile from 6pm to 9pm.Northern Light did not show up, but that is always a bit a thing of luck too. However the tour on snowmobile was fun enough, especially together with a nice stop in the wilderness with coffee and tee as well as grilled sausage and hot juice. The guides where good too, did everything to make it safe and fun. They told a bit about the northern light of course and a few other finnish typicals. As i am comming to Finnland nearly every year since 1998 it was nothing new to me, but for tourists sure is.A few things you have to considder if you book it. Even though everything is well organised and made as much family compatible as possible it still is a ride on uneven ground and on strong machines (specially if the Eco-Modus is off ;) ).So don't expect a ride on a sofa. Don't book it if you are a couch potato :D.The other thing is the time (3 hours) goes by fast. The guides hardly have time to prepare everything like bonfire and grilling at the stop. So don't expect much time with talking or such. Also don't expect overtime, the tour is exactlx to the times told. If you want more of the snowmobiling or time in the forests there are overnight tours available in Rovaniemis other many possibilitys.Last but not ..... there is nothing more anoing for a group of people, than single persons in it which comes to late or has special wishes, which are not part of the tour, and disturb everybody that way, just because they think the world has to spin around them. Thank goodness there where none of those in this trip ;).

Visited Rovaniemi , Lapland over Christmas 2014 and booked a number of activities with Lapland Safaris. On Christmas Day we went on a Santa Safari, visiting a reindeer farm, where we took part in an exciting Arctic Circle crossing ceremony, followed by a short reindeer sleigh ride.Dinner was provided consisting of Meatballs , mash potato and salad, absolutely brilliant food, whilst having dinner Santa arrived, looking a bit tired since he had just travelled the world delivering Christmas presents. Everybody got a chance to sit with Santa and have their photo taken. This was followed by a Snowmobile safari, brilliant and a visit to the Santa Claus village, snowman world is recommended , with its ice slide ridden on car inner tubes. Our second excursion on Boxing Day by snowmobile was cancelled for children due to excessive low temperatures, a full refund was given by Lapland Safaris without hesitation. We had another excursion to the Husky farm and driving a dog sled. Our final excursion was a reindeer sleigh ride by night to search for the Northern Lights. We had one minor problem that we never received our advertised certificate for crossing the arctic circle on the Santa Claus Safari but an email when we got home sorted this and the certificates were emailed promptly, thanks to Laura for her help with this.Lapland Safaris are a well organised company, with friendly and knowledgable staff who were always helpful.I would recommend Lapland Safaris to anybody, they are good value for money and know how to give there customers a good time.

Finally got a chance to see polar bear freely roaming in a non-enclosed area. A guided tour around the safari will take about 1.5 hours to 2 hours depending on your walking speed and questions asked. It's in the middle of winter when we went so the safari was covered in thick white snow and freezing cold due to the openness. Remember to wear more layers of warm clothings. A pair of good gloves is a must if your hands get cold easily. The safari restaurant serves tasty creamy salmon soup but the reindeer meat was not to our liking. Do get there earlier if you are in a big group as seats are limited and it gets really crowded during lunch time. Some of the fazer chocolates sold at the safari gazette shop are cheaper than that found at the supermarkets in Helsinki.
