This is close to a sports college so it can get busy with joggers. But it is a gentile walk around the lake fairl flat so good for kids and grand parents. It is the start of many longer hikes to for the more energetic some up the hills others through the woods. Head for Ullevålsætre either way three different routes the easiest being down the right hand side of lake. This brings you to s small place with a cafe . Next to this is a great pond for breeding frogs.Birders may be interested to know that the forest here abouts holds black and three toed woodpecker. The lake and walk around it are stunning especially in the autumn. This provides wilderness 10 mins from oslo.Heaven

A great experience, not to be missed. Wrap up warm though! It is a pleasant stroll and takes about 40 minutes at a slow pace!

I live within walking distance and the area is suitable for most outdoor activities.Excellent place to start or/and end a tour in "Oslomarka". In summer you can spend the daybathing or take a walk around the lake. In winter ski or skate (depending on snowconditions),

It is not far to walk from the metro-stop to the track start around the lake. It is suitable for skiers, joggers, trampushers and handicapped! It is toilets and a kiosk there, and the round around the lake is a nice sunday hike. It was a bit icy, and you can't see so much except forrest. Easy accessable, easy walk.

Sogn lake is a beautiful outdoor space for the entire family. There are good walking trails, ski trails and the forest is beautiful for exploring as well. There is a direct train that brings you to the lake . Frozen now, andl beautiful to come and relax.

The lake is stunningly beautiful surrounded by snow cover trees set in the backdrop of mountain scenery. The lake is conveniently located one the last stop of metro line 6. It's a little way out of town but visiting provides a excuse to get out of the city. There isn't much to do there expect walk around and take in the landscape however cross country skiing is another activity possible there. I imagine the lake to be beautiful all year around either frozen and snow covered, as on our visit, or in the summer.

I looove Sognsvann in the spring and summer time, it's a great place to be especially if you have kids and want them to be in contact with nature!!it's not a very touristic place (because there are no museums or monuments nearby) but if you want to go for a nice stroll, or grill by the lake or just have a relaxing day this is a great option. You have the subway ride from the city center that stops really nearby and a kiosk that serves warm drinks and waffles in the cooler months and ice creams in the summer.Enjoy!!

This place was a complete surprise the first time I visited. An easy subway ride #2 from the city center. It takes roughly 45 minutes to walk around the lake if you are doing a reasonable quick pace. Its peaceful and beautiful. There is usually a kiosk open for a warm drink on the cooler months or ice cream in the summer. I suggest an evening grill in the park. Just pick up a one-time grill, some hotdogs and ketsup. (if you want to do it Norwegian style add dried onion and lumpe instead of polse brød) then load the family on the subway. Easy and cheap dinner with the kids and relaxing for you.

Trail around lake is full of joggers and walkers, young and old. There is skiing in the area when snow is on the ground. Nice for families. Great place to get your regular dose of fresh air and exercise. Just catch #6 subway and get off at last stop. There is an annual event in September when all the city's recreational clubs offer free activities. Hotdag and ice cream kiosk is only open summer.

During the weekends when I get a day off work I sometimes take the t-bane to this lake and walk around. It's a good place to go if you don't want to walk too much plus it's easy to get too.

Sognsvann Lake is the last stop on the #6 Metro (I believe), making it really easy to get to. Once you get off the metro, you take a right and follow the pathway down the hill to the lake. It's a really beautiful spot and you'll get a small taste of Norwegian nature while vacationing in Oslo. We went in the winter so there was a decent amount of snow and snow covered trees so it was breathtaking and there wasn't a lot of people there. I imagine it is quite popular in the summer months.

I have lived in Oslo for about 25 years. Most of these years have been near Sognsvann. It is a wonderful jumping off point for a longer walk in Nordmarka or for a nice walk around the lake. Take T-Bann (Metro) 6 towards Sognsvann and enjoy the best part of Oslo

Magical place all year round. Great for hiking, cycling or just a relaxing walk around the lake. If possible try to avoid the peak hours to truly enjoy the serenity of what nature provides

Nice place for a walk or jogging. In summer you can take a swim if it is not to cold. Relaxing area close to the city.
