The city centre of Rhens has many picturesque half-timbered houses. One of the most beautiful is the old town hall, also present the seat of the Mayor. At the market place (also called “auff der Bröck”) the "Ochsenbrunnen" (ox fountain) can be found. The fountain consists of a partially movable sculpture: a farmer with his oxen. The well refers to the fact that the inhabitants of Rhense once drove their livestock to the City Hall to allow them to drink. The well served not only as well for the livestock but also as a meeting place for inhabitants to gossip or to exchange the latest news.

Leuk plein met veel vakwerkhuizen. De plaats Rhens is in het geheel een aanrader. Tientallen zeer oude vakwerkhuizen op een klein oppervlak.
