We spend 22 days in the country and this excursion was the best thing we did in Ecuador , Ruta de las Casdadas is a most , they stop just about every where for you and you can try many zip lines on the way to the biggest fall of all ( el Diablo) the whole trip is about 3 hrs of fun, just love it....

The hole route is a great way to spend a day on the bike enjoying Banos area and the great waterfalls. Do your self a favor and don't rush it I wish I had the time to do the route twice. My favorite was The Paílón del Diablo Waterfall ( English “Cauldron of the Devil”.) you can view Diablo from the top and from the bottom both entrance fees are $1.50 per person well worth the $3.00 If you only have time to go to one falls do The Paílón del Diablo you can take a bus or cab to the town of Rio Verde named after the Rio Verde( river green). The Rio Verde is the river that feeds The Paílón del Diablo Waterfall.

We saw several cascades/waterfalls each of which was lovely, the area is well looked after and well presented. A really pleasant morning, even in the rain!

Beautiful with great hiking. Features one of the largest waterfalls in the world. Many things to do along the way like zip lining, riding trolleys, swinging over the edge of the mountain, and repelling down waterfalls.

This is a must do in Banos, you can hire a taxi and work out the price or do a tour in one of the open buses. I have done both and it depends on what you like. The bus tour is a very bumpy ride at high speed at times and they play very loud music but I found this to be very entertaining and part of the experience. They stop at different spots along the way for pictures and you can zip line or do the other activities, we did not but plenty in my group did and enjoyed it. Getting on and off the bus was a little bit challenging, so if you have a bad back or problems with legs, think twice. I found the views of the water falls where amazing

You must see, but please .... do not do it by bus (it's noisy)! Rent a bike in the downtown... the route is easy and you can stop whenever you want. Dense green vegetation, few waterfalls and the most amazing one in the end, of course: El Diablo! PS: do not worry about the way back, there is a "truck" you can take with your bike to go back to Banos!If you like canopying you will find some options on the way down!

This is an absolute must do for any visitor to Banos. We opted to take the Chebas tour, $6.00 per person in a double decker bus. Our first stop included a cable car ride over a canyon and an option of dping a zip. We chose to do the double zip line, 1000 m further on the trip. It was beyond wonderful. I would absolutely do it again. The cost was $15.00 per person and well worth it. The last stop was the best, El Pailon del Diablo, what a spectacular waterfall. There is a $1.50 charge and a small hike including over a suspension bridge. Our Chebas tour lasted four hours, leaving Banos at 1030 am, and was money well spent!

Must go to Pailon del Diablo. Haven't seen anything as breathtaking as this placetake a local bus to rio verde and can visit this waterfall $1.50

First of all, you don't need to pay lots of money for a tour to do this. You can rent a bike in Baños for 5-7$ including helmet and a map - it's just one straight road out of Baños and to be honest you're probably safer not in a giant group of foreign amateur cyclists.The road is very pretty and winds through a lovely valley. You can't see any of the waterfalls from the road so you need to lock up the bike and do some short hikes and pay $2ish for each waterfall. You have to ride with heavy traffic including trucks and buses so I recommend leaving as early as you can. The Pailón del Diablo is the best by far (though also the most touristy). This was a cute half-day activity but to me not a must-do by any means.

We rented bikes and followed the route out of town and along the Calle de Cascades. It's unfortunate that you must share the road with trucks and tankers, but there are plenty of places to pull over and watch the many waterfalls. We ended at Cascade de Diablo and took the hike down. It was worth the entire trip. What a powerful waterfall. Since the trip is mostly downhill, the return is made easy by taking a truck back for $2.

excellent stretch of road. The falls/cascades were beautiful and we took cable cars to some and walked down to the best one Devil's Cauldron. A must see when in Banos.
