Unfortunately, our visit was not at the right time for a tour or demonstration of cheese-making, but we did read about the process. We also bought a few varieties of cheese to bring home with us. We were amused (and pleased) to see that they were also selling Avonlea clothbound cheddar from Cows Creamery in Prince Edward Island, which is where we live! (We didn't buy any of it, though!)

Bob gave us an excellent tour of the laiterie and an informative tour through his own personal collection of milk memorabilia! While it seemed a bit expensive ($12.00) we certainly got our money's worth!

We wanted to see how local cheese was made (after enjoying it at the 1608 wine and cheese bar at the Chateau Frontenac). This was not too far from the hotel by car and lots of good information. They sell the cheese made that day - especially the curd. Easy travelling cheese. We bought a loaf of bread, some cheese and pate and ate underneath a tree outside at a picnic table. Very yummy.

Its just the best cheese i ate from a long time and it's not expensive. It's fresh from the day you can feel it. It's still hot when you eat it

if you like cheese curds... that's the place. When in the area, do not miss. Also, different succulent kinds of cheese and pies. A must for cheese lovers

Take a guided tour it is worth it.Give yourself time to visit all they have to offer, the 2 museum exhibits the brining room, the methanization facility, look through the windows at the store you can watch them prepare cheese. It is a cheese economuseum. The "Canadienne" breed of cow used in their 1608 cheese is very rare and is being reintroduced in the area. In the summer they always have one or two of them in a paddock nearby. Taste their cheeses, taste their ice cream. The store also sells a lot of local regional products, so it's like a one-stop-shop

Artifacts of cheese making and dairy farming very interesting! Close to town worth the visit! Our guide was fully bilingual, enjoy!

If you like fine cheese, you have to stop here. There is a great selection and the prices are cheaper than in Montréal. They also have different local products such as pâté, sausage, vinaigrettes, jam, honey, bread, beer, etc.. Everything is delicious.

Enjoyed the upstairs museum and the wonderful local cheeses in the retail store. We were able to sample a few prior to purchase which was extremely helpful.

Great place to buy locally made cheese, patés, meat pies, jams, jellies and candied fruit, for example.

The musee is upstairs from the store and has some interesting exhibits the explanation of cheese making and history of cheese making in Canada. The "factory" was on the main floor but I guess they had just finished a batch because all the vats were empty. No signs about tours. The fresh curds in the shop were terrific.

You have to stop at this place and buy a delicious bag of fresh cheese chunks. It is so awful. You'd better enter without your wallet because you will probably get out of there with an empty one.

Nice place, better prices for the Charlevoix chease (that is so expensive in Montreal), lots of choices of charcuterie, bread. Wonderful place.

First off, we didn't do the tour of the place, just stopped here to get "supplies" for a picnic lunch out on the island. You can get almost everything here....bread, cheeses, apes, charcuterie, beer, cider, etc, etc. Definitely a place to stop if in town.

We did the tour of the Laiterie Charlevoix and the Economusé du Fromage. We were led by a very knowledgeable tour guide and it was very informative. Highly recommended!
