It is a great place to enjoy the small atmosphere of a home town theater. The sound quality is fabulous. The seating is placed so that everyone has a good seat.

Showplace offers a delightful variety of shows; from professional performers to local amateur theatre and everything in between! Never disappointing no matter what your preference is. Easy to find, there is lots of parking nearby. The theatre has two lounge areas that offer a wide array of beverages, including "adult" plus small snacks. Children and families are welcome, as are folks in the grandparent demographic. It's a great place to go as a family for appropriate live theatre experiences; it's also a wonderful "date night" for adults. Only downside is the seats are fairly old and well used so you may have to be content with a slightly uncomfortable hour or so! Not that bad, though, because the tickets prices offer great value for great quality theatre.

A place we've visited many times for plays and concerts, Showplace has always provided excellent quality in lighting and acoustics. The seats are very comfortable and the view of stage always good from all areas. I don't think there is a bad seat. The downstairs lounge always provides coffee for those who'd rather not drink from the bar and there is a coat check for those that would rather not keep theirs. Located downtown you have access to restaurants and cafes. Showplace offers a variety of performances and we have always enjoyed every show we've seen.

time to clean it up a bit, put some bathrooms on the main floor and make a real performance theatre out of it. Instead, it looks and feels like an old movie theatre that is struggling to stay alive. Oh yeah, some relevant acts would be nice.

Peterborough's only entertainment centre that is downtown; lots of parking on street or in parkade (off King Street-west of George). Always greeters who are happy and assist to seating. Seats are comfortable - only drawback would be a lack of elevators.Festival of Trees event was showcased at Showplace after it left Peterborough's Memorial Centre - due to lack of elevators to upper levels, many seniors and handicapped folks were unable to enjoy what used to be "the" annual event at Christmas in our City.Showplace hosts local talent and concerts as well as talent from across Canada/USA - always something happening at Showplace - from Dora the Explorer to Elvis to ballet!!

was here for the SAAT cultural outreach show, the seating was comfortable, the lighting was good, and the sight lines were quite satisfactory. What was hugely disappointing though was the rubbish that SAAT put on the stage, after which they proclaimed to have killed the show, well they killed it, but not in the way they thought they did, anyway I like this place for a live showing.

A beautiful little theater, downtown Peterborough. I have been able to enjoy many concerts over the last few years and thought it was time to say thanks for providing much needed entertainment to our community. I had the opportunity to be at last nights performance for Matt Anderson. The theater is very well kept and the staff were very attentive and friendly, all the way from ticket pickup to placing us in our seats. The show was amazing, the sound was fantastic and the I didn't have to travel all the way to Toronto!

I've been going to Showplace since I arrived in PTBO and have enjoyed the numerous concerts throuoghout the years. A nice break from having to travel into TO to see some of your favourite artists - after all - if Sir Elton doned us with his presence, shouldn't you. Mind you he did not perform at Showplace, but others have!!!!

Showplace often has really great shows. The seats are comfy and the sound from the stage is distributed perfectly! Whenever they have a laser/magic show its a must see!Its a great location, and has free parking at night!

The Performance Centre is well equipped to handle most any performance. The washrooms are clean and adequate. Seating is comfortable. The lighting and sound systems are modern and accompany performances very well.

The seating and acoustics are very good at this venue and it is well situated beside parking and restaurants. The lounge area is spacious and can accommodate a large number of patrons. My only complaint is the too narrow stairwells and the lobby area which does not permit good traffic flow.

This easily accessible performing arts centre does not have a bad seat in the house! The acoustics are amazing, and the line-up of artists is of high quality and great variety. It is also available for rent and a lot of school groups take advantage of this opportunity, providing quality entertainment for the community. Peterborough is lucky to have this amazingly affordable venue in our citizens.
